ISLAND AND SIGHTSEEING TOURS FROM PLAYA DEL CARMEN

As wonderful as Playa del Carmen is, there are also many other locations outside of town that are also amazing to visit.  We offer you the opportunity to take an excursion to some of the other famous tourist areas of the Riviera Maya, such as Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Isla Contoy and Cozumel.  The islands all offer excellent snorkeling, great beaches, and a laid-back island vibe.

About our Playa del Carmen Excursion Locations

Isla Mujeres is an island off the coast of Cancun, about 1 hour north of Playa del Carmen.  It is quaint and cute - there are no cars on the island, and the primary mode of transportation is golf cart or on foot. 

Isla Contoy is an uninhabited nature preserve south of Isla Mujeres.  It is home to 300 species of birds, and really feels like a desert island, where you can relax and enjoy the unspoiled beaches.  It is reached only by motorized boat from Cancun.

Cozumel is a world famous destination for snorkeling and scuba diving.  It is Mexico's largest island, and a tourist resort in it's own right.  It is just a ferry ride away from Playa del Carmen, about 45 minutes.  It has one main town, San Miguel, and a scattering of beach clubs and small Mayan ruins around the island.  San Miguel is the tourist hub of the island and is usually pretty lively with some good restaurants and shopping.

Cancun is the largest tourist resort in Mexico, and the leading beach destination in Central America.  It is home to nearly 150 hotels, and nearly 30,000 hotel rooms.  Cancun is located about 1 hour drive north of Playa del Carmen.  It is a tourist mecca, truly one of a kind in it's scope of resorts, nightlife and activities.
