Aktun Chen is one of the most famous of the cenotes near Playa del Carmen, and for good reason. Aptly named Aktun Chen means "natural well inside a cave" in Mayan language, and that is very fitting. The geologic attractions here are really incredible.

Named one of National Geographic's Top 10 Underground Walks, you'll have the opportunity to explore this magnificent underground cavern. After walking through the cave, we'll go snorkeling in an underground cenote, where we can see the limestone formations underwater.

Before we get to Aktun Chen, though, we'll tour the famous Tulum Mayan Ruins site, glorified for it's stunning clifftop location. We'll take a guided tour of the only walled city of the Mayas, learning about these ancient people and their advanced and mysterious civilization.

Cruise Passengers: This activity is perfect for a cruise shore excursion, as long as it works with your ship's schedule.
