CANCUN INTERACTIVE AQUARIUM

Conveniently located at Km 12.5 of the Cancun Hotel Zone, next door to La Isla Mall, the Cancun Interactive Aquarium is the only aquarium in Cancun. It is home to many fish tanks with exotic species of sea life, exhibits and interactive performances by its star attractions including dolphins, sea lions and sharks. There is a touching pool to feel the marine life such as octopus and starfish.

In the Cancun Interactive Aquarium you will see fascinating exhibits of marine life from the tidal pools to the deep ocean. You will get to see rarities such as seahorses, barracudas, tiger and bull sharks. Children can touch creatures of the sea in this fascinating addition to Cancun.  But of course the most popular attractions for kids and adults alike are the marine mammals - dolphins and sea lions.  You can actually swim in the water with these great creatures and interact with them in so many ways.  They are so silly and funny, and seem to really love to play with you.

One great thing about Interactive Aquarium than its convenient location right in the heart of the Hotel Zone at La Isla Mall, Cancun's most popular outdoor shopping mall.  Here you will find lots of shops and restaurants and entertainment venues, so you can combine your trip to the aquarium with lunch at La Isla, visiting the shops, stopping for a coffee, this mall even has night clubs, car rental facilities, you name it.  Some of the big names you will find here include Hard Rock Cafe, Coco Bongo, Hooters and Johnny Rocket's.

Swim with Dolphins: Primax 4 - The best part of this activity is the famous foot push, where you are propelled across the water at such high speed that you actually lift out of the water like Superman! This is the most popular dolphin swim in Cancun. It is a 1 hour activity, featuring 45 minutes in the water with the dolphins. That and the exclusive small groups of 4 people or less really sets this apart.

Swim with Dolphins: Dolphin Swim & Ride - We primarily recommend this for people whose budget doesn't allow for the Primax Swim activity. It is also a great experience, featuring an exciting ride across the water holding onto the dolphin's dorsal fin.  It is a 45 minute activity, featuring 30 minutes in the water with the dolphins.  Group size is limited to 10 people or less.

Swim with Dolphins: Couples Dream Swim - Created as a romantic option for couples to have a personal dolphin experience together, this is also a great option for you to do with your child, a family member or a friend. Just the two of you in the water with the dolphins, creating some wonderful photo opportunities and a real memory. A perfect marriage proposal idea, you will have 60 minutes in the water with the dolphins in a 75 minute activity.

Shark Encounter - The Cancun Interactive Aquarium is one of the few places in the world where you can see a Tiger Shark, one of the most dangerous sharks in the sea. Also you will encounter Bull Sharks, known to be man-eaters, and various other types of sharks. With the Shark Encounter, you view these magnificent creatures through a plexi-glass wall inside of the tank!

Sea Lion Encounter - A very popular activity, splashing around with silly sea lions.  They are so playful and funny, you can't help but laugh and smile.  Some great photo opportunities, and like all the activities here, free admission to the aquarium is included in the price of the tour.

Dolphins Show: Every night at 7:00 PM is also a fun dolphins show that is included with your admission.

HOW TO GET TO THE INTERACTIVE AQUARIUM:

Free transportation is provided from your Cancun hotel is included with your dolphin swim activity, so if you'll be swimming with dolphins, there is really nothing to worry about. If you did want to go there on your own though, and weren't going to do the dolphin swimming, you can take the Hotel Zone bus for about 60 cents, or take a taxi from your hotel. The Aquarium is located in the heart of the hotel zone in the Isla Shopping Center, so it is really easy to fit into a day when you don't have all day to spend!

Entrance fees are $15.00 per person, but if you book one of the featured dolphins swims, sea lion swims or shark encounter, you get free entrance, so that is a nice touch. If you don't want to get wet though, you can still enjoy all the amazing creatures in the aquarium such as colorful fish, stingrays, jellyfish, clownfish, scorpion fish, lion fish, corals anemones, sea lions and of course dolphins and so much more. 

If you will be swimming with dolphins, your admission is free, but anyone accompanying you would still need to pay the entrance if they aren't swimming, so this is a nice way to book their admission in advance at a discount.
