Every winter, the clear, blue waters of the Riviera Maya are filled with huge shoals of bait fish, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, making a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet for the world's fastest fish, the sailfish. Swimming at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour (120 km/hr), they are truly a magnificent species.

We will set out on a small boat, looking for the tell-tale birds circling overhead, diving to get in on the feeding frenzy created by the sailfish, as they work the sardines into a ball and force them to the surface, making a smorgasbord for marine species of all kinds.

We will enter the water and snorkel with these amazing sailfish, measuring up to 10 feet long and weighing up to 220 lbs. Sometimes there may be dozens of these fantastic creatures! In addition, we have a chance of seeing manta rays, dolphins, or other large pelagic fish.

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM. This tour is seasonal and runs from December through March only. Between June and September, check out our Whale Shark Adventure.

Duration: Approximately 6 hours.

Departure: Tour Offices in Downtown Playa del Carmen. Detailed directions will accompany your confirmation. Hotel Pick-up and Drop-off is available upon request for an extra charge.
