Explore one of Mexico's largest parks. The Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve (meaning where the sky is born) has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. The park covers more than 1 million acres of coastal jungle and is home to over 350 bird species. The park is sanctuary for the great diversity of plants and animals that live in the savannahs, dunes, wetlands, mangroves and lagoons of the reserve. Upon arrival, an experienced biologist will explain life in in the reserve and then you will begin your boat expedition through the wetlands. |

As we cruise through the wetlands, your guide will point out many species of birds, as well as small animals and incredible insects which call Sian Ka'an home. We may also spot dolphins, turtles, manatees or even crocodiles! We will visit a beautiful coral reef where you can enjoy snorkeling with some amazing types of fish and coral formations.
The next stop is La Piscina Beach, aptly called the Swimming Pool, due to its entirely calm waters, and gorgeous shallows where you can walk miles into the sea with water only reaching your waist. Truly a spectacular place. You will also enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with options for everyone!
Research is vital to ensuring adequate protection for the countless species of flora and fauna who call the reserve home. The tour operator works in collaboration with environmental experts including the World Wildlife Fund, the Ecotourism Society, the Smithsonian School and other leaders in the field of environmental protection.
