Join our expert tour guides for a fascinating cultural adventure to the Muyil archaeological site. Archaeologists are currently researching the role of Muyil as an inland seaport which connected with the Caribbean via the Punta Allen Peninsula, out guides will share the mysteries of the ruins with you. Explore a lush Sacbe (ancient road) that stretches from the temples to the lagoon, through the forest to the shore of the pristine lagoon of Chunyache. Once in the lagoon we'll board a small boat to traverse the ancient Mayan commercial aquatic routes. On the trip in the lagoon you can jump off the boat and float effortlessly (on your back) for a while through a mangrove-lined channel that links the two lagoon systems to the Caribbean coast. This is the perfect activity to observe the aquatic and terrestrial bird species of Sian Ka´an. There is nothing this relaxing! |
