In the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico lies the most famous lost city of the Mayas: Chichen Itza. It is here, on its hallowed grounds that we will immerse ourselves in the ancient Mayan culture, learning about this great people, how they lived in centuries past, and how they live today. We will learn what it means to be Maya - the core beliefs and traditions they hold closest to their hearts. What's more is that we will take part in it - participating in Mayan ceremonies, learning to prepare and sample traditional Mayan dishes, discovering this great culture. We will also take a guided tour of the lost city of Chichen Itza, discovering its magnificence and glory. Then after lunch, you will have time to either visit the Xtoloc Cenote on-site or use the facilities of the area's most famous hotel: Mayaland, including the swimming pool, hammocks, bar, lounge chairs and more. |
