Aktun Chen, meaning cenote inside a cave in the Mayan language, is truly a sight to behold. Voted by National Geographic as one of the Top 10 Underground Walks in the World, this five million year old cavern is stunning, both above the water and below it's surface. Aktun Chen is a natural ecological park, featuring a dry cave filled with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, an underground cenote where you can snorkel, an adventure park with 10 exciting zip lines, and even a 7-acre petting zoo with cute and cuddly animals. We will start with a guided tour of the dry cave, walking about a half mile through this subterranean marvel. Then we will try snorkeling, this is really cool - like something out of Lord of the Rings! End up with 10 exciting zip lines, what a rush! |
