XCARET PARK
TOURS FROM RIVIERA MAYA
Xcaret is an eco-archaeological wonderland, located
about 10 minutes south of Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. It
is a special place, like nowhere else on earth. It's a place where
ancient Mayan traditions meet stunning underground rivers, where
nature's most magnificent creatures meet with white sand beaches filled
with hammocks and palapas. It's truly a marvel, and it could only
be Xcaret.

Our Recommendations:
If you are staying North of Xcaret:
We recommend a
private tour unless you're only a couple of people. The price
is nearly the same as the public tour, and you get private non-stop
transportation on your schedule. No picking other people up or
dropping other people off at their hotels, going for check-in, or strict
schedules to adhere to - you're on your own for the day, at your
leisure. This is the best way to visit Xcaret. However, if
you're only a couple of people, a private tour will be expensive for
you, so a public tour might be a more desirable option.
If you are staying in Puerto Aventuras, Akumal or
have your own rental car:
You'll probably want to choose the "Entrance Only"
option above. This will give you only your tickets, which will
save you having to stand in long lines at the entrance to purchase them
(a valuable time saver),
but will not provide transportation. From Puerto Aventuras or
Akumal, it will
likely be somewhat cheaper for you to just take a taxi than to do a tour
since they are near Xcaret. Of course, with a tour, it's all taken
care of - nothing for you to worry about. From other areas, a tour
is the way to go.
Dolphin Swims:
If you want to do a dolphin swim at Xcaret, you will
need to book in advance. If you wait until you arrive at Xcaret,
it will almost certainly be sold out.
Xcaret Plus:
If you will want a buffet lunch, then you will want
to do Xcaret Plus. It is a better deal because the buffet
restaurants inside the park are very expensive, about $29.00 per person.
There are a few snack bars that serve hamburgers and other small things
that you can order ala carte for considerably less, so if you are on a
budget or don't want a buffet lunch, then the regular tour should be a
bit cheaper. Xcaret Plus is also convenient because it includes
everything so you don't have to worry
about it once you're inside the park.
IMPORTANT:
Xcaret will not allow you to bring your regular sunblock into the
park, as part of the ongoing effort to protect the environment.
It will be confiscated at the gate unless it is biodegradable. See
