If you want to explore Chichen Itza and the Mayan world in a different way than the regular bus tours - really peek inside the magnificence that this ancient people once held, and still pride themselves in today - this is probably the tour for you.  Small, intimate groups of just 6 people or so will accompany your expert English-speaking guide as he enlightens you about the Mayan civilization.  Start your tour with an exploration of the majestic Chichen Itza Mayan ruins site - the pillar of Mayan history and prowess. Where most Chichen Itza tours stop, this tour is just beginning!  Head to the colonial Spanish town of Valladolid, where you can see how many Mayans live today.  After a delicious Yucatekan lunch at one of the region's best restaurants, we'll have free time to explore this cozy town and it's unique town square. Visit the ancient monastery of San Bernardino, and delight in it's mystery.  During the tour you will also have a chance to swim in the magnificent Samula cenote, an underground Mayan grotto with crystal clear water.  This is an amazing Mayan adventure!

Itinerary:  This Tour Runs on Mondays and Thursdays Only.  Private Tours are available every day but Sunday. Exact pickup time is determined at the time of reservation, and depends on the time of year.

 

Departs:  Pick-up from hotels from Akumal to Tulum is Free.  Pick-up from hotels from Playa del Carmen to Akumal is available for $10.00 per person, payable in cash on the day of the tour.  Pick-up is not available for hotels north of Playa del Carmen.  You can choose to meet the tour at Plaza Playacar in Playa del Carmen if you like.

 

Duration: Approximately 10 Hours.

Bring: Hat, Biodegradable Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Camera and/or Video Camera, Extra Money, Swimsuit, Towel, Drink Lots of Water

Kids: All Ages Welcome.  Kids same price as adults.
