ALASKA AIRLINES FREQUENT FLYER MILES PROGRAM

The Alaska Airlines air miles program is quite good, especially for a small airline.  They partner with several major airlines, including American, Northwest, and Continental, so you can use your miles on any of them.  If you live on the West coast, particularly in the Northwest, Alaska is one of the more valuable programs out there.

Air Miles with Credit Cards

This is the single best way to really pack on the air miles.  Think - if you make $60,000 per year, you could have 60,000 air miles just from buying the things you buy normally.  If you make $100,000, you can have 100,000 miles.  That's four trips to Cancun in one year FOR FREE!

We use our air miles card for all our purchases - and we fly for free pretty much everywhere we want to go!  What a great deal!  Have a Diners Club card that you're attached to?  Did you know that you can convert your Diners Club points to Alaska Air Miles?

Did you know that you can get bonus miles just for eating?  You get a whopping 10 miles for every dollar spent on your ENTIRE bill - tips, alcohol and everything.  And it's good at over 10,000 restaurants nationwide!

Mortgage Lenders

Alaska participates in the lucrative Awards for Real Estate program - you get up to 3,000 miles for each $10,000 of home price!  Think - for a $200,000 house, that's a whopping 60,000 bonus miles!  For details click here.  They do business loans too.   Bank of America will also give you 1,000 miles on every $10,000 of home price, with 2,500 for a home equity loan.  Lending Tree also gives you thousands of miles for your business.

Financial Partners

Open a Share Builder account, and get 2,500 bonus miles with an additional 1,500 each year you have it open.  True Credit will give you 350 miles just for monitoring your credit profile online!

Hotel Partners

The following hotel chains all participate in the Alaska Airlines Frequent Flyer mileage plan - a great way for some easy miles especially within the US.  Many of the Cancun Hotels are featured here as well - a nice bonus for your vacation!

What's more the dining plan also includes an additional 7,000 hotels nationwide!  Or, as a priority club member, you earn miles at more than 3,500 properties worldwide, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites.

Rail Partners

Amtrak will give you a minimum of 150 miles on any trip with them.

Specialty Partners

Teleflora's Flower Club and FTD.com both give you 10 miles per dollar spent on flowers.

MasterPark will give you 50 miles per day you park at the SeaTac airport.

Alaska Airlines Cruises will give you up to 10,000 miles per cruise booked with them!

Mileage Plan Shopping will allow you to shop at over 100 stores and get bonus miles for all of them!  Buy with your Alaska Airlines Visa and get double the miles!

Points.com will allow you to share miles with your other rewards accounts.

You can get 125 miles for each $250 spent at Safeway too.  We shop at Safeway anyway, so this is a great deal!  It counts if you have your groceries delivered too - that's what I'm talking about!
