ASIANA AIRLINES FREQUENT FLYER MILES

Korean-based Asiana Airlines is not a household name around the United States, but if you travel to Asia frequently - family, friends, vacations, etc. then Asiana may be the airline for you.  They fly to 54 cities in 17 countries, and are becoming a major player in the Asian travel market.  They do run several routes out of Los Angeles and San Francisco, servicing many American Markets, and there are many partners that they use to service routes throughout the world.

Air Miles with Credit Cards

This is the single best way to really pack on the air miles.  Think - if you make $60,000 per year, you could have 60,000 air miles just from buying the things you buy normally.  If you make $100,000, you can have 100,000 miles.  That's four trips to Cancun in one year FOR FREE! 

American has teamed with Citibank for it's Credit Card offerings:

We use our air miles card for all our purchases - and we fly for free pretty much everywhere we want to go!  What a great deal! 

There are also a lot of other great ways to pick up air miles along the way with Asiana.  They have several airline partners that you can gain AND use miles on, including Northwest Airlines that will help you get to Cancun, though America West does run the route out of Phoenix.

Asiana is pretty light in this category too, but the Diner's Club Card will give you 1 mile per dollar spent.  Asiana is also unique in that it allows you to earn miles at two duty-free shops, one in Pusan and one in Seoul.
