AIRLINES ADVANTAGE FREQUENT FLYER MILES

American Airlines has the oldest, most popular, and probably the best frequent flier program out there.  You have so many options to get miles, and they fly so many places.  This is our primary miles account, which works out pretty well, since they partner with Alaska who services the West Coast much better than American does.  If you live in the Northwest though, free flights can be hard to come by.  You'd be better served overall with the Alaska program, in our opinion.

Air Miles with Credit Cards

This is the single best way to really pack on the air miles.  Think - if you make $60,000 per year, you could have 60,000 air miles just from buying the things you buy normally.  If you make $100,000, you can have 100,000 miles.  That's four trips to Cancun in one year FOR FREE!

There are also a lot of other great ways to pick up air miles along the way with American.  They have a wide list of worldwide partners making international travel really easy.  Of particular interest to Cancun travelers is Mexicana Airlines which just gives you one more option to get to Cancun for FREE!
