This unique adventure is geared toward preservation of the marine ecosystem of Costa Maya and the greater Caribbean. Dive shops throughout Costa Maya are working hard to control the exploding lionfish population, and now you can participate in this important work. You must be a certified scuba diver to participate in this very special excursion, and every trip is exclusive, private and a hands-on cultural experience in every way. This special tour is led by our local experts, who will teach you the art of spearfishing and eating lionfish. We will do two tanks of scuba diving, and use our hawaiian slings to spearfish for lionfish. During the surface interval, we'll do some trolley fishing and then we'll head over to a local fisherman's home to cook up our catch for lunch, including our catch of lionfish! |
